In this course, students will read and analyze classic and contemporary works of literature which will include but are not limited to an introduction to literature, poetry, drama and the media in America.

Part A
Topics include: Language and its history; reflections in American literature; poetry in America; American drama and society; and historical American nonfiction.

Part B
Topics include: Communication in the workplace; the art of persuasion; the media and its impact on history; contemporary issues in American communication; and an independent project.
